Went to go for a pint at The Fat Gadgie, but they were closed.

So off I went to the train station to have a pint at the 301 Miles to London (from Carlisle it’s 300 miles, but originally it was 301 miles, historic licence I guess).

I was sat with a fruity IPA, I can’t remember the name as it was too bloody long, anyway it was awful and I only drank half of it and left (ye’, that bad).

Kinja'd!!! Kinja'd!!! Kinja'd!!! Kinja'd!!! Kinja'd!!! Kinja'd!!!

I’m now presently at home with a pint of  Budvar, the original and best Budweiser.

That’s pretty bad if you are leaving beer behind.

That location reminds me of a Mexican restaurant in a town near Greenville, SC, in a converted church. Of course, your place is clearly more historic.

Well you have to remember that London was smaller then, so obviously you had to go father to reach it (or maybe they straightened the route a bit). Those are some non-standard letter designs on the date on the fireplace, but I think it says 1848?

Was the beer bad or just not your style? I like IPAs with a bit of tropical fruit, a s long as they are made properly.

Ye’, the line was changed somewhere through history so it became shorter travel distance.

This is the second Carlisle train station. There was one before it a short distance away but this one took over and was used by six different rail companies at one point.

It wasn’t bad per-say, but definitely not my drink.

Definitely not a drink for me.

If you want real historic, just leave the train station.

The old city gates to the south of the original city.

Gotcha. With how many good beers and varieties there are, no sense drinking something you do not like!

There was about eight on tap (five were Heineken, etc... yuck), then the rest were bottles or cans. Maybe 20 different types.

It was getting a little busier as a train going out west to Maryport had been delayed 45 minutes due to a land slip on the tracks and another delayed 50 minutes due to an over cable being damaged.

Anything is better than Heineken. Even if you didn’t like the IPA, you made the correct choice haha

Heineken is only equalled by Miller, Coors or U.S. Budweiser.

Yack no.

Back when my friend worked at the brewery, I had hour old Bud straight from the tank. The beer was actually really good. By the time it gets to stores, its much, much worse. I don’t really drink any of the beers you have listed. If my sole purpose of drinking was to get a buzz, I’d just have liquor. Otherwise, I want actual flavor, that isn’t piss.
